Music Preferences: We collect your top 5 song selections and any music preferences you share within the app. This data is central to how we match you with other users.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including profiles viewed, matches made, messages sent, and features used. This helps us improve the experience.

Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and general location information (city/country level) for analytics and safety purposes.

Reports & Moderation Data: When you report content or block a user, we collect the details of the report, including the reported content, reason for the report, and any additional context you provide. This information is used to review and act on violations of our community guidelines.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Select 5 app and its matching features

• Match you with compatible users based on your music taste and preferences

• Personalize your experience and show relevant profiles

• Enable messaging and social features between matched users

• Send you important updates, match notifications, and support messages

• Analyze usage trends to improve our matching algorithm

• Protect against fraud, abuse, fake profiles, and other harmful activity

• Moderate user-generated content and enforce our community guidelines

• Review and act on reports of objectionable content or abusive behavior within 24 hours

• Maintain records of content moderation actions for safety and legal compliance

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

With Other Users: Your profile information, including your name, photos, bio, and top 5 music picks, is visible to other users as part of the matching experience. Messages are only visible to you and the recipient.

Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party companies that help us operate our services (such as hosting, analytics, music data, and customer support). These providers only access your information as needed to perform their services.

Safety & Legal: We may disclose your information if required by law, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of our users, enforce our Terms, or respond to legal requests.

Content Moderation: When a user is blocked, our moderation team is notified and may review the reported user's content and behavior. Information related to reports and blocks may be used to take enforcement actions, including content removal and account termination.

Tracking Technologies & Analytics

Select 5 uses a limited set of tracking technologies to improve the app experience and ensure safety:

Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app, such as which features are used most frequently and where users experience issues. This data is aggregated and anonymized.

Crash Reporting: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic data to help us fix bugs and improve app stability. This may include device type, OS version, and app state at the time of the crash.

Push Notifications: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. You can opt out of non-essential notifications through the app settings or your device settings.

Device Identifiers: We may collect anonymous device identifiers for analytics and fraud prevention. We do not use Apple's IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) for ad tracking. Select 5 does not display third-party advertisements.

No Cookies: As a mobile application, Select 5 does not use browser cookies. We use on-device storage (such as shared preferences) to save your app settings and session information locally.

You can limit data collection by adjusting your device privacy settings or by contacting us at info@select5.app to opt out of non-essential analytics.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security audits, and access controls.

All messages between matched users are encrypted. We implement industry-standard security practices to safeguard your dating profile and personal data.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, including your profile, matches, and message history, unless we are required to retain it for legal or safety purposes.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you

Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information

Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information and profile

Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format

Age Requirement

Select 5 is a dating app intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information and terminate the account promptly.
