Delete Your Account

Overview

This page explains how to delete your Select 5 account and the personal data associated with it. Select 5 is published on Google Play by EJJ Systems and on the Apple App Store by Select5 LLC.

You have the right to delete your account at any time. We offer two ways to do this: in-app (recommended) or by sending us an email request.

Option 1 — Delete From Within the App (Recommended)

The fastest way to permanently delete your account and data is directly from the Select 5 app. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Select 5 app and sign in with the account you want to delete.

2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.

3. Scroll down to the settings menu and tap the Delete Account row (shown in red).

4. A confirmation dialog will appear with the message: "This will permanently delete your account and all data. This cannot be undone." Tap Delete to confirm.

Your Firebase account and your stored profile data are removed immediately and you are signed out. The account cannot be recovered.

Note: For security, Firebase may require a recent sign-in before allowing account deletion. If you see a "please sign in again" message, simply sign out, sign back in with the same account, and repeat steps 2–4.

Option 2 — Request Deletion by Email

If you are unable to sign in to the app (for example, you lost access to your email or device), you can request account deletion by emailing us:

Subject line: Account Deletion Request

Include the following in the body of the email:

• The email address, phone number, or username associated with your Select 5 account

• Your full name as shown on your profile (if known)

• A short confirmation that you are the owner of the account and want it deleted

We will verify your identity and process the deletion within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion is complete.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your Select 5 account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:

• Your profile information (name, age, bio, location, profile photo, gallery photos)

• Your selected 5 songs and song interaction history (likes, dislikes)

• Your matches and match history

• Your chat messages and conversation history

• Your favorites, connection requests, and blocked-user lists

• Your notification history and device tokens

• Your linked Apple Music / Spotify authorization tokens (where applicable)

• Your Firebase Authentication account (email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple linkage)

What Data Is Kept (and Why)

For legal, security, and fraud-prevention reasons, a limited amount of data may be retained after your account is deleted:

Abuse-prevention records: If your account was ever reported, blocked, or subject to moderation action, we retain a record of the report and the action taken for up to 3 years to prevent repeat abuse and comply with child safety reporting obligations (e.g., NCMEC CyberTipline records).

Transaction and billing records: Records of in-app purchases and subscriptions are retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax, accounting, and consumer-protection laws.

Aggregated, anonymized analytics: Usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you (e.g., daily active users counts) may be retained indefinitely.

Crash and diagnostic logs: Firebase Crashlytics logs may contain a device identifier. These are automatically purged within 90 days.

No retained data will be used to contact you or re-identify you after deletion.

Active Subscriptions

Deleting your Select 5 account does not automatically cancel an active premium subscription billed through Google Play or the Apple App Store.

To cancel a subscription:

Android (Google Play): Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → tap Select 5 → Cancel subscription.

iOS (App Store): Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → tap Select 5 → Cancel subscription.

We recommend cancelling any active subscription before deleting your account.
